The benchmarking system catalogs survey data based on functionality
The SMS Benchmark Coding System is used to catalog survey data based on functionality. Each job reported in a survey is matched to a code and c apsule description. Then, a company's benchmark jobs are mapped to the survey data via the appropriate benchmark code and capsule. The mapping process is a one-time step for both the survey jobs and the company benchmarks.
Capsule descriptions from the benchmarking system can be used to form basic job descriptions.
Because a company's jobs are mapped to survey data via the benchmark coding system, the capsule description corresponding to the mapped benchmark code can be accessed and used as a scope statement for a specific position in the Job Documentation tool.
