SMS - Valuation
With the Valuation tool you have the capability of developing effective ways
of representing job value via salary structures, broadbands, broad grades, or a combination approach.
The Salary Structures option utilizes a Windows'-based "Wizard" approach to
developing a pay structure. Users are prompted for each component (number of
grades, midpoint progression, range spread, etc.), and SMS creates a series
of grades conforming to your requirements.
SMS can maintain and automatically update multiple structures via the Move
Grades option. It can also assign grades to jobs automatically by incorporating market pricing results and/or internal point scores into the slotting process via the Auto-Slot option. So, users can generate an unlimited number of what-if analyses to determine the cost impact of implementing new structures.
SMS generates salary graphs and regression analysis to determine the fit of jobs to the
market, as well as to develop paylines consistent with your company's pay philosophy.
Also, it can graph employee salaries and market pricing results against pay grades to
show a visual picture of the fit to the assigned grade.
